CDA Oasis Moment: Dr. Cecile Bensimon on the Updated CDA Principles of Ethics
Dr. Cecile Bensimon spoke with Dr. John O’Keefe about the process CDA undertook to revise its Code of Ethics into the now Principles of Ethics document.
Dr. Cecile Bensimon, MA PhD, is the Director of Ethics at the Canadian Medical Association. Previously, she was at the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry and Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy after returning from a visiting scholarship at Tel Aviv University’s Sackler School of Medicine. Prior to that, she was a research scientist at Bridgepoint Health after completing a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Toronto Joint Centre for Bioethics. As part of her work in global health, she jointly authored the book, Bioindustry Ethics, on ethical decision-making in the bioscience industry. She is currently an editor of the bilingual journal Bioéthique Online. Her recent publications have appeared in the British Journal of Psychiatry, the Journal of Bioethical Inquiry, and Social Science and Medicine.
