Dr. Sheela Raja reflects on the “unsatisfied patient” communication scenario

Dr. Sheila Raja, Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Chicago Illinois, reviewed the prolific feedback that we had received for the communication scenario, posted on April 2nd, 2015.

She spoke with Dr. John O’Keefe about the importance of communication in the dental office and she shared some valuable strategies that dentists could use, if ever they find themselves in this situation. 

Dr. Raja is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Assistant Professor and the Director of Clinical Behavioral Sciences. She is a highly sought after speaker and has given invited talks at the U.S. federal and national levels on post traumatic stress and trauma informed medical and dental practice. Her research interests include understanding the role of traumatic and toxic stress on health behavior and examining the outcomes of trauma informed training in healthcare settings.
